It’s that time a year again! Gifts Galore!!
Today, instead of one DIY, we have a couple interesting tips and tricks for your to try to rap the the prettiest boxes under the tree.
Tip 1: Alternative to Bows. Check out the dried and fake flower section at Michaels to find sparkly and organic alternatives to bows.
Tip 2: How to gift a bottle . If you are gifting a bottle of wine or olive oil for a hostess gift and want to avoid the average bottle gift bag, try a shoe-box size box. Line the bottom of the box with tissue or confetti clippings and then rap the box like a normal gift. Anthropologie has great shoe box sized boxes that rap just like a traditional box.
Tip 3: Stamp Away. If you have kids, check out their craft bin for holiday stamps. Simple snowflake stamps on cardstock make beautiful gift tags. Cut and hole punch the card stock and tie it onto the gift with a ribbon.
Tip 4: Go to the Garden. Mini pine cones make a beautiful alternative to a bow. Take a few clippings from a pine tree or your Christmas tree and tie them onto the present with twine.
Tip 5: How to tie the perfect bow. If this baffles you every year, you are not alone! Every year, I cut way to much ribbon or not enough. I always mess up the ends, so the bow looks tired and frayed. However, this year I turned to the professionals for my bow tips! Check out the perfect bow tutorial here.
Tip 6: Belly Bands. We always think of using belly bands for napkins at seated dinners; however, if you box is a plain brown or cream, a simple band of festive, colored paper will look fresh and creative. You can also use craft scissors to jazz up the paper. It also saves paper!
Tip 7: Tape Remedies . It pays to use slightly more expensive tape when rapping presents. You will want to find a dispenser that contains truly invisible tape rather than translucent tape that is actually very visible.
